It is hard to live in San Diego and not be tempted to head for Baja. From our house it was a short 40 minute drive to the border, and endless back-country roads to explore. It seems when you go down there on a weekend you will see more American license plates than Mexican ones. The lure of Baja for us is the wide open country, the miles of untouched pristine beaches and coastlines, and the fact that four-wheeling is encouraged there, in fact, for most people it is a way of life. We've had numerous laughs driving along back roads, the truck all loaded up with gear, only to have to pull over to the side of the road to let an 80's busted up El Camino to pass.
