Coldwater, Ontario is a nasty trail that brings out the best clay goo that Ontario has to offer. If you've never had a chance to drive on wet clay you are missing out.... For the first two years we came to this trail we never finished the whole thing once, then one lucky day we knocked it off in about 4 hours. This trails condition changes by the day, which makes it a good trail to test your equipment on. It is mostly this trail that inspired me to buy the Unimog....
2002:
2004: This was the first outing for Dave's Willy's PU.....
2005: Rode shotgun for a day...
2006: First trip of '06. Lots of mud as usual, but a good day for everyone. Pete brought out the new Toyota, which I wished I had taken pictures of before this run (check out that Camo paint) and Dave's Willy's started its new life on 38" boggers. Stu, well, Stu as usual had too many new things on his truck to write down here. Funny, Helmut is starting to look small.....
Second trip to Coldwater of the year. Pete, Dave and I made the trip, which turned out to be a nice leisurely drive for a change. (we stayed away from the worst parts of the trail) Pete's Toyota was testing out its new Marlin Crawler 4.7 to 1 transfer case gear-set, Dave was fine-tuning the Willy's rear axle, and I was trying out the new Michelins. It was a humid day and we all made it back in one piece. As you can see Dave stole all the pictures with his mud antics sticking his Willy's in the same hole both coming and going. Check out the amount of Coldwater goo on the willy's rear axle.
Back to Coldwater again for a scenic fall colors trip. Pete, Dave, Jason and I all made the trip. Jason's Jeep was open front and back but still managed to have a successful trip. The day turned sunny and warm and their was no damage to report - despite the water levels being quite high.
