Here are some pics of the D110 before it left the UK:
The 110's Arrival: (August 2007)
After a few weeks stuck at the dock in the UK, a long ocean crossing, being mauled by customs officials and one run-in with the local authorities, the D110 finally arrived. It was great fun unsealing the container and opening the big doors to finally see the truck in person for the first time. We unloaded the container on an outdoor ramp (many thanks to Pete and Marty from Maximum Disposal) inflated the tires back up, turned the key once and the 300TDI engine started right up. Below are the unloading pictures and the 110 with its new owner.
Here are a few quick specs:
1985 Defender 110
new galvanized chassis
new 300 TDI engine, R380 5-speed trans
Eezi-awn tent and awning
Brownchurch HD roof rack
Now the fun starts. The basics are there and I'm sure the list of things to do is long so keep checking back to see how the 110 is evolving.
A couple of pics of the Defender's camp set-up from the last Ardbeg run this past labor day (2007):
