The Glamis Dunes are located on the border of California and Arizona, just west of Yuma, AZ. If you haven't been there it is hard to put into words an accurate description of what it is like. I guess it would be as close to the Sahara Desert as you could find in the USA. The Dunes seem to go on for miles and miles, and on a quiet day (if there is such a thing) you can become quite lost in the maze of sand and brush. The first time I went out to the Dunes was over a Thanksgiving long-weekend. We didn't do much driving in the sand but we watched over 150,000 people on various modes of transport - funniest thing I've ever seen.

Terry & Lynn from American Hummer, and Jim from Lynch Hummer were on this trip too. We headed out to Glamis for a couple of days and then went to Joshua Tree National Park and the Bradshaw trail on the way back to San Diego.
