Nevada, much like Utah, is one of the last true unpopulated 4WD playgrounds.  You can pretty much pick an area on a map, head out there and just start exploring some of the vast old mining towns, and ghost towns.  Nevada is pretty much as close to the "wild west" as you are going to get.
